About Evening House

Evening House Books is downtown Buffalo’s gateway to the weird, the wonderful, and the sublime through the literary arts!

Our focus is on highlighting indie authors, small presses, and a variety of genres and styles.

Our first website launched in October 2024 and we first began selling physical books on January 1st of 2025. What started with a single box has expanded now to a small storefront on Buffalo’s Main Street.

The first thing you will notice after stepping into Evening House is our sense of curation and organization; rather than lumping books into large categories, we sort titles by sub-genres, subjects, and literary styles to help underrepresented authors stand out and to assist readers in finding that perfect pick that scratches just the right itch.
